Working in Malaysia - Experiencing the
cuisine
|
I was sent there to support the new
project. In Kuala Lumpur I met a very motivated team of
engineers and it is a wonderful experience to work together
with them. Unfortunately I haven't got a photo of all of
them, here you see Maryati and Hasni - our
telecommunications engineers - together with Serena - the
Executive Secretary and soul of our K.L. office.

I can remember times when I was on travel
and felt alone - never in K.L. Serena and her husband Calvin
spent all their weekend time with me and I did really enjoy
it.
They are Chinese and here we could enjoy the homemade
Chinese cuisine - me, my colleague Peter,
Serena, Calvin and Serena's friend Wendy. Wendy's husband
Jimmy took the photo, he's very interested in the German
soccer league - more than me... surprise, surprise.

A typical Malaysian-Chinese speciality is
called "Steamboat" - a kind of a Chinese fondue.
Fish, seafood and vegetables are cooked in a chicken broth
or Tom Yam soup inside a pot on the table. Served with crabs
and Asian side-dishes it is a very special experience...

Something typical for Malaysian cuisine
is also Hawker's Food. A variety of Chinese, Malaysian and
other Asian food is served from small foodstalls next to the
street. It is affordable and very tasty.
This fruit is called Durian. It isn't easy to open it and
after opening it smells quite unpleasant. But try to
overcome the smell and taste the soft fruit inside - it's
very sweet and you will know why it is called the queen of
fruits.

These pictures are here to show that we
did more than eating in K.L. Jeanni is responsible to keep
control on the finances in the Asia Pacific region.
On the other side you see me together with Ralf-Peter from
our system's factory and Gerald, our project manager in K.L.
during the setup of the local production and assembling
factory in K.L.
